Union Organizer

Full-time or Part-Time| Hybrid - Southern California

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated union organizer to join our team. Orchid Law, is committed to transforming workplaces and society through organizing workers to stand up for their rights and fight for justice in the workplace. We represent numerous independent worker led unions and countless employees in workplaces in the public and private sector. We also assist employees in non-unionized workplaces to unionize.

This role involves high client interaction and frequent local travel to their workplaces in the Southern California area.

Responsibilities:

  • Represent union members in grievance hearings, investigations, as well as PERB and NLRB hearings

  • Serve as lead negotiator in contract negotiations

  • Communicate with management on behalf of union members

  • Draft documents, and correspondence

  • Attend and lead union meetings

  • Assist with union elections

  • Lead union organizing campaigns

Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree

  • 1-3 years of experience of working with a union

  • Ability to interact effectively with clients, attorneys, paralegals, and support staff

  • Valid driver’s license
